Welcome to the Strike it Rich Pack Burro Series!
Series standings are based on points earned at each of the four Strike It Rich Burro Race Series events, with racers’ best three long course finishes counting toward their total.
Points are awarded by long course finishing position at each race, rewarding both strong performances and consistency throughout the season. Racers may miss or have an off day at one event without penalty, as their lowest score is automatically dropped.
Final series rankings are determined by total points, with simple tie-breakers based on long course race wins and finishing position at the final event. This system keeps the series competitive, fair, and accessible while encouraging participation across New Mexico’s historic burro racing venues.

Easy math for you and competitors
Drop Score Rule
-
Each racer’s lowest score is automatically dropped
-
Series total = best 3 race scores
-
If a racer only does 3 races, all 3 count
-
If they do all 4, their worst result is dropped
Tie-Breaker (keep this simple)
-
Most individual race wins
-
Best finish at the final series race
Participation Bonus
-
+10 points for starting all 4 races
Why are you recognizing the runner here- not the burro?
We decided to stick with awarding the runner's points and not the burro because we did not want to risk a runner to push a burro into a race that they may not be healthy enough for.
